For CINNAMON two versions: round and square.
For GNOME, one version - square

Whatever the reason may be: today, 2 days after my comment below, I tried activating your coloured dots again, and here they are! Phantastic!

Looks great but unfortunately it doesn't work in Linux Mint 19 Cinnamon. I don't get the green-orange-red dots, but - + x , as in other themes. Really a pity.
