Description:

Gnome-CM

Gnome C(lean) M(odern), is a new theme that, like Gnome-PRO, is meant for desktop-users who want a clear and easy-to-the-eyes theme.
It uses new buttons, new check- and radio-buttons and gradient-colors.

Also new is the deleberate omission of the maximize-button (double clicking the titlebar does the same)

The focus in this theme is compatibility: GTK-2 applications and GTK-3 applications look virtually the same. Libre-office, Scribus, Evolution, Geary, Planner, GnuCash, LaTeXila, Geany, the Gimp, Inkscape,... and all browsers are themed correctly.

Requirements

First, This theme only works in the gnome-desktop, with GTK 3.20 -GTK 3.24

Next, buttons should be on the right side. If they are not: here is the terminal-code:

gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.wm.preferences button-layout ":minimize,maximize,close"

When, as such, theming does not look the way it should be: make sure you have installed the necessary theme-"engines":

- The gnome-themes-standard package,
- The murrine engine. This has different names depending on your distro.
gtk-engine-murrine (Arch Linux)
gtk2-engines-murrine (Debian, Ubuntu, elementary OS)
gtk-murrine-engine (Fedora)
gtk2-engine-murrine (openSUSE)
gtk-engines-murrine (Gentoo)

How to install:

Just copy the extracted file to a '.themes'-folder you make in your home directory.
Then use Tweak-tool to select the GTK-theme.
LOG OUT AND BACK IN for changes to take full effect !

Next: Use Tweak-tool to de-activate the maximize-button.

This theme is build upon a special font called: Myriad Set Pro Semibold.
The font is set to size 12, scale: 1,00 (at my setup)

This theme (as are all my themes) is thoroughly tested, but I would be glad if you point me to errors I've missed.

There is no support for dark theming yet.

Please try and rate it.

Looks great, but for some reason LibreOffice Writer (version 5.3.7.2.0) Icons are obscured.

Setup:

Fedora 26
GNOME Shell 3.24.3

I like your themes, although not using xfce too much.
This one is refreshing for GTK3, but I miss the maximize button. I use double clicking for rolling up the window.

perhaps I should use another username. Paulxfce is misleading, when all I do is making gnome-themes....

What desktop are you on? This only works on the standard gnome-desktop. If so, than try this: remove line 108 : background-image:linear-gradient(to bottom left,rgba(235,240,244,1),rgba(221,227,232,1),rgba(221,227,232,1),rgba(238,244,246,1)); } in the gtk.css file. It might work.

Hi, I'm using gnome 3.24, I removed the indicated line but the only thing I get is a transparent background in the window.

Good you post a screenshot of the desktop wallpaper (blue-grey). So I can pinpoint the problem?

And perhaps tell me if you - after using my theme - you can choose a background that works afterwards? Or don't you get anything else?
