GN-OSX H.Sierra 1.2

Made by paulxfce

After building Gnome-OSX, now a brand new theme based on the latest Mac OS
This is a gnome-desktop-interpretation of Mac OSX High Sierra. So don't expect a replica.

Again, I've spend an obscene amount of time perfecting this theme, so please try it out before you rate it...

What is new?

In sort: everything.

The long version for the geeks:

- a totally rewritten GTK3.CSS
- removal of png's for SVG's (better at scaling)
- new buttons everywhere.
- Switch-button is now CSS-written, so no need for graphics.
- New and improved blurred sidebar in nautilus.
- Same theming across GTK2 and GTK3.

Requirements

First, This theme only works in the gnome-desktop, with GTK 3.20 -> 3.24

Second, essential in this theme is the use of the font: Freesans Regular, 11pt, Scaling factor 1,00. Why? Because buttons behave weird if you don't...

Next, buttons should be on the left side. Here is the terminal-code:
gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.wm.preferences button-layout "close,minimize,maximize:"
In case you would want to revert them back to the right:
gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.wm.preferences button-layout ":minimize,maximize,close"

When, as such, theming does not look the way it should be: make sure you have installed the necessary theme-"engines":

- The gnome-themes-standard package,
- The murrine engine. This has different names depending on your distro.
gtk-engine-murrine (Arch Linux)
gtk2-engines-murrine (Debian, Ubuntu, elementary OS)
gtk-murrine-engine (Fedora)
gtk2-engine-murrine (openSUSE)
gtk-engines-murrine (Gentoo)

How to install:

Just copy the extracted file to a '.themes'-folder you make in your home directory.
Then use Tweak-tool to select the GTK-theme.
LOG OUT AND BACK IN for changes to take full effect !

Coming soon:

The smart ones may have noticed that their is no shell theme available.
Well that is my next project. So stay tuned...
In the main time, there is still the shell theme of my Gnome OSX-theme.

I love all your themes.
I have one query. Why almost no theme modifies the appearance of gparted?(debian testing). I need to install a package to also work with gparted?
Regards.

The theme is pretty good, great job Paul, I just have a problem with the sublime3 sidebar (the tree selections are the same colour that the letters )

Are you referring to Sublime Text 3? If so, then explain how you get the tree-view in the sidebar...

Report

I've tested the treeview (when opening files) in this application. The way the sidebar responds is hardcoded in the application itself. So no matter what theme you use, it will react the same way. So your issue is not theme-related.

Hey guys! I just installed this theme on elementary Loki and I'm afraid I'm missed out something because the topbar is part opaque and part transparent (http://imgur.com/VMJPtbE). Any hint to solve this issue? Thanks

Loki is not gnome. This theme only works in a gnome-desktop. Loki is based on ubuntu 16.04LTS which uses a gnome-version lower than 3.20. This themeis only compatible with 3.20 and above....

May be the best macOS alike theme.

Just there is some small issues http://imgur.com/a/gQlIH

Many of the issues are because the applications you mention do not use the GTK-variables correctly. So it is not theme related. But I will try to sort things out when I'm back from my holidays...

oh wait i found it, a suggest: when entering the "textbox" scheme all the edit window turns blue, thats really cool but insted of putting it all blue maybe you can just change the border of the textbox to bold and the bue can change it into cyan when highlighting the selected text, and the background maybe keep it white

suggest: I love the blue bar when loading something, but the edges are round, i think it should be rect and with less height, just a bit...

dude using the gnome-web app (wich is really like safari) entering the inprivate mode the gtk theme just doesnt work

Report

That's not themeable. The private-browser headerbar-background and titlebuttons are hardwired.

I'm getting a weird glitch on the nautilus sidebar when the mouse hovers over entries they get a strange pinkish highlight that sticks until I hover them again. Only seems to affect places and not bookmarks. Ubuntu Gnome 17.04, Gnome-shell 3.24.1
