Description:

Aldabra is a GTK2 theme that uses the Murrine and Pixmap engines to mimic the look of Adwaita, the default GNOME 3 theme.

The goal of this theme is to provide visual consistency between GTK2 and GTK3 applications. It is a work in progress, and there are several known issues: keyboard shortcut color in menus, gray menu gradient, and toolbar button hover glow.

Versions currently exist for GNOME 3.0 and GNOME 3.2. Please download the version of Aldabra that matches your version of GNOME.

Aldabra is available under the LGPLv2+. Anyone is welcome to rename, package, or otherwise distribute the theme (in whole or in part) as permitted by that license. Constructive feedback is greatly appreciated.

2011-05-31 Version 0.5.2. Fixed Firefox menubar selected text color.

2011-05-31 Version 0.5.1. Uploaded a .tar, because .tar.gz would not open. Fixed expanders.

The patch that allows menubar dragging in gtk2 also seems to have an option available for toolbar dragging. As Adwaita has this feature, are there plans to add this option to the gtkrc file in Aldabra?

Using skype 2.2.0.35 I get no scrollbar and no checkbox in the startup dialog.

I believe (based on comments here: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1772074&page=7) that those artifacts are caused by a bug in older versions of metacity:

"I'm using ubuntu 10.04 and a bug I have are anoying circles over the minimize, close and 'menu' in the upper corners of the window borders"

"That's because you're using an old version of metacity. I don't know if the latest one in the 2.x branch works better, but it probably does. The theme was only tested with metacity 3."

It looks very cool and definitely adds to the GTK2 and GTK3 coherence. However, there is one serious issue with checkboxes in some GTK2 apps, they are simply not displayed at all, as seen in the screenshot.

I forgot to include bbcode, sorry. Other than that, links seem to be fine.

The application is Shadowgrounds Survivor.
There was another app, but I just can't remember what it was, I'll try to find it.

Hi brother.. this section make LibO menu become white

and this too

widget_class "*<GtkMenuItem>*" style "menu_item_white"

but I still don't know, if I disable that section how many application will be affected because in my archbox work fine..

has anybody also seen the problem in Libreoffice:
If you click on the menutoolbar (e.g.: File) then the font becomes white...

Hi, first of all, many thanks for this theme ! :)

However, I've some issues with the application Eclipse the IDE (http://www.eclipse.org). The toolbars are really huge and there's a problem with the gradient.

But probably this problem can't be solved because of the used widgets in eclipse (xulrunner)?!

After I upgrade to Libreoffice 3.4
Libreoffice menu look ugly while I select a menu (text color white). I hope you would fix in next release ;)

I installed LibreOffice 3.3 and menubar/menuitem colors were correct. I installed LibreOffice 3.4 and selected menubar items were colored white. I spent a good bit of time editing the gtkrc trying to fix that coloring without breaking coloring everywhere else, but I didn't find a solution and eventually gave up. Please let me know if you find a theme that has seperate colors for selected menubar items and selected menuitems in LibreOffice 3.4, and I'll update Aldabra.
