Description:

An Orange-themed derivation of https://github.com/horst3180/arc-theme

Some elements might not work with this theme, if you're having trouble please type "gnome-shell --version" into the terminal, then from the answer determine which package of the theme you need for exemple my answer was "GNOME Shell 3.16.4" so you've got to select the 3.16 package and so on.

This is a WiP so if you find any bug or issue please report them on the Github repo.

Have a nice day :)

Very well done. Excellent modification of the original Arc theme. I like it a lot, thank you so much. I would appreciate a red version of this theme, please create a red version if or when you have some free time. Thank you so much in advance.

First of all thank you for a great theme!
Very nice colour combo (better than the original Arc theme IMO).
Theme works great in Ubuntu MATE 16.04.
Do you have some advice as to how I could move the metacity title to the left of the window? There's very little info I could find and what I've tried so far failed..
Again thanks!

Maybe try to contact the original creator of the theme via Github I'm don't have a solution right now, but I'll look into it.
Till then maybe try to make an "Issue" post on Github and see what Horst answers.
Good luck !

Tested on Debian Gnome 3.18 look great.

Well, I currently use Solus OS, with the budgie desktop and gnome 3.18. So it could be a Solus-thing-related problem: the side-bar of nautilus is not theming right. I have a live-iso of ubuntu gnome 16.04. I'll see if it has the same problem.

Just tested it on Ubuntu 16.04 gnome: same problem. The side-bar of nautilus should be dark. While all the items on the side-bar are white. This is because this Ubuntu uses gtk 3.18 I believe. So yes, there is a difference between the different GTK-versions.

That is the disadvantage of providing a theme on gnome-look. You either stick to your version or upload the other (GTK 3.14 and GTK 3.18) in separate downloads

Hey, just uploaded all of the versions of the theme should be fine now.

OK! I tested the 3.18 and now it works fine.
By the way, did you change everything yourself? This is the work of an expert... The orange-ing of all the graphics is superb. You obviously know what you are doing...

Happy it works !
I'm no expert I just had to change a couple .svg colors and all was done !
I must say a huge thanks to Horst for making such good explanations with his files, he did the majority of the job so most of the credits goes to him aha

So I've downloaded your file, extracted it and found 3 files within your Arc-Orange-Theme file. Which are named exactly the same as the original arc theme. If you happen to have installed the original arc theme, then your files conflict.

You should rename the files to something like :
Arc-Orange
Arc-Orange-Darker
Arc-Orange-Dark

-Arc

...And change the index.theme of every theme to the new names.

Don't know how to do it unfortunately, could you maybe try to correct this issue via Github if you know how to fix it ?

Well, as it happens, I'm working with the Arc theme too. (the ARC-OSX-theme).

I do not work with github, but with the actual files. Simply changing things (CSS en GTKRC) with gedit-editor. Github is good for collaborating with others, but it is to cumbersome when working alone. Anyway: what do you want me to change?

Wondered if you could change the script so that the folders would be named correctly each time you build it manually.
For the archive I just changed the folder names manually so this version is clear, no modifications needed.

Sorry, I can't help you there. I never compile it. I use the actual files and copy them to my '.themes'-folder. And work on it from that location. Whenever I change it, I test it live by reselecting it in the tweak tool. In fact I work live with the theme that I use. Allot easier...

I see that you have chosen GTK 3.16 for the downloadable theme. Why not 3.18?

I am on Ubuntu Gnome and the GTK version 3.16.
The compile script assumed I only had to get the 3.16 files so it got me only those.
Does that make a difference ?

Doing this right now, pushing the update version when all's ok. :)

...but I think you overestimate the knowledge of the average user on gnome-look. You should supply an easy way to make it install-able. A github-page is not very user-friendly.

Oh ! yes of course, long story short I thought you had to compile the theme from source each time and that's why I didn't upload anything.
I'm gonna upload it right now.
Thanks for the quick feedback ! :)
